So I cleaned the EGR tubes as far as I could from the point where it connects into the plenum. They were totally clogged. I coat hangered them until I could shoot air into one hole and have it come out the other hole on the other side of the plenum. I algo put vacuum to the valve to keep it open. I smogged it today and the NOX was even worse than before. I've exhausted all other possibilities for the cause of NOX and am sure it's EGR related. The car will die while idling if apply vacuum to the valve and the solenoid operates correctly. My question is, since air can blow from one tube opening to the other and the valve can kill idle..is there still something clogging the EGR?
